Savage Pass: What and Why?

The Savage Pass is collected over and above the cruise cost and is made directly to admin@rockymountain Savages.com via PayPal. The Savage Pass will be used for game organization, administration, swag, and prizes.
How much is the Savage Pass?
The Savage Pass is $50 per person.  Think of this as the cost of your “convention badge.”
What do we get for the Savage Pass?
Part of what you get is the benefit of being part of this group.
  • Stateroom Upgrades:  There are some “invisible” upgrades from the base-level room, even within the same room type.  A more desirable deck or location can cost extra.  We get several of these upgrades by being with the group.
  • Dining together in one area of the Main Dining Room.  We will all be grouped together in the same area of the dining room, and we will all have the same dinner time. This allows us to schedule games and events.
  • A Private gaming room in addition to access to unused dining space for those die-hard players
  • Group activities both in New Orleans and on the islands we visit.
  • A hosted cocktail party on one of the cruise days.
  • SWAG:  We don’t have exact details on this – we are pricing various items currently.
Did you say something about getting some money back?
  • We have mentioned several times that some of the Savage Pass money will be returned to you in the form of “shipboard credit.”  This is money that is added to your on-board account, which you can spend on drinks, specialty restaurants, foo-foo-coffee drinks, and even shore excursions (purchased through Carnival during the cruise).
  • Each room will get $50 in on-board credit.  This works out to $25 per person for almost everyone, the exceptions being the few who have more than 2 people in a cabin.
My non-gamer-significant-other isn’t going to game, so should he/she/they pay for the Savage Pass?
Yes.  The Savage Pass is for everyone in our group, even those we have yet to convince to join us at the game table. All of our guests are benefiting from the shipboard perks detailed above.
What is the deadline for payment?  Where do I send the money?
This will be automatically charged to the same card you used for the cruise deposit.  You don’t have to do anything to make this happen.  If you want to change the payment method, please contact us ASAP.  This charge should appear on your card November 1, 2019.
What will appear on my credit card statement?
The Savage Pass will be charged to the admin@rockymountainsavages.com.
Do I get my money back if I cancel?
No.  We are getting close to the end of the “full refund” period, which is one reason we have waited to charge the Savage Pass.  Once we charge everyone for the Savage Pass, we will immediately begin using that money on SWAG for the cruise (which we have to order soon) and other benefits.  Once spent, we won’t be able to get that money back.
Who do I contact if I have questions regarding my Savage Pass?
Please contact Chris Landauer of the Rocky Mountain Savages at chrislandauer@gmail.com or 303-803-3583

We will be flying into the port city; how do I get from the airport to the port?

You have a lot of options here. In all scenarios, it is suggested that you arrive the day before, spend the night and head to the port the next day. Lost luggage or a flight delay can be corrected with a just bit more time on your part. Your travel coordinator, Kimberly Maita Smith, can make all the arrangements for you and your friends or family. As we get closer to the cruise date, she will be sending a bunch of options your way. Just let her know what you want to do, and she will coordinate it for you.

We are four gamers who want to room together to cut costs, what do you suggest?

Well, the four of you are going to have a lot of fun! It would be our suggestion that you chose a balcony stateroom. It is a bit larger AND the door opens to allow some fresh air into the cabin. We wouldn’t want our gamers to get gamey, but if you don’t mind, we don’t mind. Please note that when you put four people in a room, the bed configuration resembles two bunk beds.  Upper berths are just as comfortable as lower berths however there is a ladder of sorts to get up there.  Balcony stateroom will have three lower berths and one upper berth.

Are children welcome?

Absolutely! Gamer Adventures is not planning to have activities for children; however, Camp Carnival (the kids’ program on board) is an excellent place for kids. They have a real activity program with arts and crafts, dances, swimming, slumber parties, etc. It’s not just babysitting and it’s free most of the time. They do charge for services between 10:00 pm and 3:00 am. There is also a teen program with hangouts, private disco’s and a video arcade (extra).  You can request rooms next to each other, adjoining or across the hall depending on the age of the children.

What if I want a stateroom all to myself?

No problem, however pricing is double occupancy, so you get to pay for your imaginary roommate (but he’ll give you his half of any credit).  Cruises are paid by the bed, not the room.

Do I need a passport?

If you are a US citizen and if the cruise departs and returns to a USA port; you do not need a passport currently. You will need a government issue ID and a certified copy of a birth certificate. If you are military, a legal resident or have any other documentation or ID other than the above, please contact us at Gamer Adventures and we will help you figure out exactly what you need.

How does it work when a gamer wants to bring a non-gamer?

Cruise price is the same, and both will pay the registration fee (Savage Pass). Non-gamers are invited to the cocktail party, if age 21, and will partake of any shipboard credit per cabin. On a cruise ship, there are activities enough for everyone at any age. We do request that children be with their parents in the gaming rooms if they are not taking advantage of the Camp Carnival. We do not determine who sits with whom at a dining table, but it is usual that cabin occupants sit together. You can request to sit with more or different people or request not to sit with someone, i.e., would prefer not to have children at your table. We will do everything we can to make sure that you have a great time.
